The Red Barn Roots Band Kota & the Red Barn Roots Band is a six-piece
band
performing 1960s rock music, including songs by the Grateful Dead, the
Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Byrds
and the Rolling Stones. Kota Kato (guitar &

Jackson

A historical document more than a polished studio production, honoring the late great Julie Partansky, a dear friend, artist, musical partner and former Mayor of Davis.
Sessions include an evening at the Blue Mango Restaurant & Coffee House in Davis in December 1979, a recorded rehearsal in 1981 with the Rural Sophisticates (KK, JP, TA, KC, RC, BA, BC), an after-hours Bacchanal on Easter morning 1989 in the upstairs Barn Studio (the Condor Club) with the late jazz artist Steve Roland, and a double piano & marimba jam at Julie's home on Guaymas Place in Davis in 2003. A donation of $20 per CD will go to the Julie's Garden project in Northstar Park.
